Group size

This is a small-group experience with a maximum of 6 participants. A minimum of 3 participants is required to operate. If the minimum is not reached, you may choose to reschedule, upgrade to a private experience (price difference applies), or receive a full refund.

Route

The final destination — Cajón del Maipo or Farellones — is selected based on snow coverage and road conditions closer to the date. Both areas offer exceptional winter landscapes. We’ll confirm the location the day before your tour.

What should I wear and bring?

No special equipment needed — snowshoes, poles, and gaiters are all provided.

We recommend wearing comfortable, moisture-wicking base layers, a mid-layer (fleece or down jacket), and a windproof and waterproof outer shell. For your legs, trekking or softshell pants — avoid jeans or cotton, which retain moisture in cold conditions.

Waterproof hiking shoes with ankle support are ideal. Bring a warm hat, gloves, a buff or neck gaiter, and sunglasses with UV filter — snow reflects solar radiation intensely, even in winter.

Also bring sunscreen SPF 50+, at least 1.5 liters of water in a reusable bottle, and a small daypack (20–30L).

Before your experience, we’ll send you a preparation guide with more details.

Do I need previous experience?

No experience is needed. Your guide will give you a short introduction to using the snowshoes and poles before you set off — most people feel comfortable within the first few minutes. The pace is adapted to the group throughout the day.

How physically demanding is this experience?

The hike covers about 4 to 5 hours of walking in total, split between an ascent of around 2.5 hours and a descent of around 2 hours, with a lunch break at the top. The terrain is snowy and uneven, but the snowshoes make it manageable for most people in general good physical shape. You don’t need to be a hiker — you just need to feel comfortable walking for a few hours.

If you have any doubts, feel free to reach out before booking and we’ll help you figure out if this is the right experience for you.

Do you pick up at the hotel?

Yes. Round-trip transportation from your hotel is included for accommodations in Las Condes, Vitacura, Providencia, and Lastarria. If you’re staying outside these areas, we’ll coordinate the most convenient pick-up point along the route. Your exact pick-up time will be confirmed the day before by WhatsApp and SMS.

What if it doesn’t snow or conditions change?

We monitor snow and weather conditions closely in the days before each departure. If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll notify you as early as possible and offer the option to reschedule, switch to another experience, or receive a full refund — at no additional cost.

What happens if the minimum group size isn’t reached?

We’ll let you know the day before. In that case, you’ll be able to choose between reschedule to another available date, upgrade to a private experience (price difference applies), or receive a full refund.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour for a full refund.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. We’ll be happy to help.
