Details of this experience
El morado natural park is located 93 km from Santiago, at the Cajón del Maipo.
For this experience we start the walk from Baños Morales, a small mountain town at 1,900 meters above sea level.
Then we will take the path that will take you to the Morales lagoon with spectacular views of the San Francisco glacier and the high peaks of this U-shaped glacial valley, created by the movement and deposit of material from the glacier (moraines).
On the way to the lagoon you will be able to observe a great variety of birds, plants, many colors, minerals and beautiful mountain landscapes.
You will be accompanied by an expert guide certified in first aid in remote areas who will carry a first aid kit and a satellite communication device in case of emergency.

Itinerary
Morning
6:30 AM: Depart from Santiago.
8:00 AM: Arrive in Baños Morales, a charming mountain town.
8:30 AM: Arrive to the park, safety briefing and general instructions
9:00 AM: Begin the approximately 5-kilometer trek to Morales Lagoon.
Trek to Morales Lagoon:
* As you hike, admire the diverse flora, fauna, and minerals unique to this region.
* Capture breathtaking views of the San Francisco glacier and the towering peaks of the U-shaped glacial valley.
* Your guide will share insights into the area’s ecology, history, and significance.
* Arrive at the pristine Morales Lagoon, surrounded by awe-inspiring mountain landscapes.
Midday
1:00 PM: Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch amidst the natural beauty of Morales Lagoon.
* Take in the serenity of the lagoon, explore its surroundings, or simply relax in this tranquil setting.
Afternoon
* 2:00 PM: Begin your descent back to Baños Morales.
* Return to the village, appreciating the stunning scenery once more.
* 4:30 PM: Arrive back in Baños Morales.
Evening
* 5:30 PM: Return journey to Santiago.
* 7:00 PM: Arrive back in Santiago, concluding your memorable day trip to the Maipo canyon.
