Discover how to plan your adventure in one of the world’s most iconic destinations.
Torres del Paine is much more than a national park: it’s a place where nature reveals itself in its purest, wildest form. Voted the Eighth Wonder of the World, it’s easy to see why.
Whether you dream of hiking the famous W Trek, taking on the challenging O Circuit, staying at a lodge with views of the towers, or simply enjoying a day surrounded by breathtaking scenery, here you’ll find all the information and options to create your ideal trip.

1. Where is Torres del Paine and why visit?
Located in the far south of Chile, in the Magallanes Region, Torres del Paine National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Its landscapes combine granite peaks, hanging glaciers, turquoise lakes, forests, and vast pampas inhabited by guanacos, condors, and pumas.
Its diversity is so impressive it feels “artificially” perfect—everything you imagine about Patagonia in one place.
This is a destination that draws travelers from all over the world, not only for its stunning scenery but also for the variety of activities: trekking, kayaking, horseback riding, boat tours, and wildlife watching, among many others.

2. Best time to visit Torres del Paine
Each season offers a different experience:
- Spring (October – December): wildflowers in bloom, long days, and fewer visitors than in summer.
- Summer (January – February): warmer, more stable weather, ideal for trekking, though busier and windier.
- Autumn (March – April): less wind, golden fall colors, better availability in accommodations, and quieter trails.
💡 Tip: November, December, March, and April combine good weather with fewer crowds. Avoid January and February if you’re looking for solitude—they are Chile’s summer holidays, the park is very busy, and reservations are harder to get.

3. Ways to experience the park
Multi-day treks
- W Trek: explore the park’s three most iconic valleys (French Valley, Base Torres, and Grey Glacier). Available self-guided or guided.
- O Circuit: the full loop around the Paine Massif, including remote and less-traveled sections.
